Urban ruins
In my artistic practice, memory is one of the recurring themes in which I manipulate remnants of the past, mine or others, material or immaterial, real or fictional, as a strategy in the composition of new processes where doing, undoing and redoing are in constant dialogue. Herval (2022) is composed of a set of images belonging to the photographic series that I have been developing since 2015, “Urban Ruins”. In this series, I explore the relationship that is established between time and abandonment by capturing ruins that I find in different urban centers and that present themselves as spaces in transformation, in which memory presents itself as a living element, in a constant process of undoing itself to create something new under the interference of nature.
