The fear of being afraid

The works presented here are part of the photographic series of self-portraits composed of twenty-nine images taken in a singular moment, in April 2020, when the world experienced the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The game is established between the veiled and the unveiled, where the protagonism centers on the hands dressed in black gloves embroidered with red jasper (semi-precious stones). With each image, the pose of the hands creates different situations, almost like a rehearsed choreography, governed by silence and composed of fragments or clues, where self-representation is explored as a possibility to create a report on the different configurations that fear can acquire. A feeling of fear that paralyzes, threatens and imposes a distorted look at the world.
